CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnosis, hypnotherapy, hypnotic
trance: all words describing an enhanced state of consciousness, the end result being transformation back to ‘balance'.
So what is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind – which happens every day in our lives. We often trance off daily while listening to our favorite music, day dreaming or running, etc. Hypnosis helps us get to a relaxed place which focuses our attention inwards, simultaneously being aware of our outer surroundings.
So what is Hypnotherapy?
Quite simply, hypnotherapy is a way of entering this relaxed state whereby your memory is enhanced and the limits and constraints of the logical, conscious mind can be bypassed. While in this state people are highly responsive to suggestibility and can subconsciously accept change for the better.
Hypnotherapy is the practice of bringing people back into balance through suggestibility.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy helps you explore the depths of your inner world by accessing your subconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is where we store all our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and programming. Our conscious mind is the controller and approve of how we behave. The unconscious mind prefers to repress all those emotions which can be hurtful or traumatizing. Ironically, it is the unconscious mind that dictates from behind the scenes of consciousness - our behaviours and mannerisms of everyday.
Why Hypnotherapy works?
Hypnotherapy helps the conscious mind to relax and allow the unconscious mind to open and accept positive ideas and suggestions; once these suggestions are imprinted and reinforced through hypnotherapy they take a more rooted form and help in removing the old negative beliefs and behaviours.
What you should expect in a session?
In a typical session the trained therapist will guide the patient into a state of hypnosis. The patient concentrates on the hypnotist’s voice and in this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.
The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient; these suggestions given are accepted as being true and they become firmly planted. Your subconscious will begin to work with you rather than against you and when you come out of the session – you will feel positive, revived and refreshed working towards your desired goal.
You remain in control
You do not "give up control" to the therapist, in fact you give feedback and remain in control of the session at all times. And although the therapist can give you positive suggestions to help you in your normal conscious life, (for example, when hypnosis is used to stop smoking, or lose weight), no one can "program" you to do something that goes against your desires, beliefs or morals.
Hypnosis works quickly
Hypnosis works quickly, effectively and permanently to aid the following:
Anxiety/stress, addictions, fears, phobias, depression, insomnia, stuttering, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, manage pain, stop smoking, lose weight, sport enhancement, exam success, sexual issues and much more.
You should expect to need 1 and up to 10 sessions to see effective change. On average 4 sessions is enough.
